President | Fiona Laing

Fiona Laing has been the president of ETAQ since 2014. She has taught English at a range of Brisbane high schools, enjoying taking on debating as well as a range of leadership roles. Her Bachelor of Arts at UQ was followed by a Diploma of Teaching at QUT, Kelvin Grove.  She is usually HOD English at Forest Lake State High School but is currently acting Associate Deputy Principal there. She has a passion for offering students the chance to grab the most from life's opportunities.  ETAQ has been an essential element of her teaching experience, from participating in PD events to joining ETAQ's committee and organising PD events to becoming president of ETAQ and the ETAQ representative on the national body, AATE.
