External Assessment Preparation 2026

External Assessment Preparation

Want your students to feel motivated and prepared? Join us for our exteranl examination event whcih draws on our collective learning from 2020. With the very generous assistance of academics across the university sector, these events provide expert support for General English, EAL/D and Literature.

Our flexible mixed delivery allows you to conduct your own version of our curated materials from the comfort of your own school or home - or a combination of both.

The program will consist of three segments:

  1. Online, self-paced teacher preparation materials, via Vimeo
  2. An online suite of teaching/student resources including pre-recorded videos and sample handouts, accessible from our website and Vimeo
  3. Teacher and students can participate in real time Q&A sessions in early September. More details later.

Pre-recorded materials will remain available to all participants until the examination week in October. . The link to the pre-recorded student sessions on Vimeo can and should be shared with students.

Last year we added 4 new texts to the list:  All the Light We Cannot See and The Dry for English and EAL and Beloved and Stasiland for Literature: This year we will be adding Twelfth Night and The Namesake for English and EAL and The Picture of Dorian Gray and Antony and Cleopatra for Literature.

Note: Macbeth, Burial Rites, In Cold Blood and Leah have been removed from the prescribed list for 2026.

Registration for this event is per teacher who has access to the materials.  We are often asked which teachers should be registered, particularly where the Head of Department uses the materials, or part thereof, to in-service staff members. In such a case it is expected that each Year 12 teacher of English, EAL and Literature would be registered.

Further information is available in the program. Note: segments 1 and 2 are pre-recorded and are available to registered teachers and students at any time from Wednesday 8 July till end of October.
