Patron | Catherine Beavis

Catherine Beavis is a Professor of Education in the School of Education and Professional Studies at Griffith University. She has played an active role in many aspects of English curriculum development, implementation, examination and professional development at state and national level. She teaches and researches in the area of English curriculum, English Curriculum history, Literature and literacy, and constructions of English, and about young people and computer games. Her research has a particular focus on computer games; the changing nature of text; and the nature and implications of young people’s engagement with online games for English and literacy education.
