AustLit webinar

AustLit is a comprehensive up-to date bibliographical database of Australian story-telling that includes works of fiction and poetry (including for children and young adults), writing for the theatre, film and television, travel writing, and literary criticism and reviews. AustLit also houses and supports a number of research projects, curated datasets and digital exhibitions, including BlackWords which collates information on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories.

AustLit is an excellent resource for teachers, but the amount of information it contains, and the complexity of its search function can be overwhelming to navigate.

At this live webinar on Thursday 2 May, we will explore AustLit and AustLit personnel will show you how to use the resource most effectively to enhance your classroom teaching. You will learn how to locate full-text resources, how to undertake advanced searches, how to find works with teaching resources, and how to use bibliographical data to build digital literacy.

The webinar will be FREE for all teachers of English; however, access to the database will be limited to members of ETAQ.

Registration for the webinar will open on Friday 22 March

ETAQ members will receive login details for the AustLit database on Friday 18 April. This will be available until 31 May.

During May, ETAQ will survey users to determine if an ETAQ subscription for the personal use of members is warranted.
