State Conference 2019

State Conference will be held on 17th August 2019 at Lourdes Hill College,Hawthorne Road, Hawthorne.

Registrations are closing on Sunday 4 August.

Bronwyn Lea, UQ will present a keynote address on the value of  poetry in the new curriculum landscape. Dr Claire Hansen from JCU will present the second keynote entitled 'Complexifying' Shakespeare: reinvigorating our teaching of Shakespeare

As usual there will be a huge range of practical and inspirational workshops in three sessions for you to choose from. We are very pleased to be able to announce that Karen Yager has agreed to return to present a workshop entitled Lifting the Performance of Senior Students. This workshop will elaborate on the material she presented towards the end of her keynote address at the May Masterclass.

As there are 15/16/17 options for each workshop session, please read the options carefully before registering.  If you must change your preferences, please email trish.purcell@bigpond.com. Your workshop selections are downloaded when you register and we do not go back to this data so on-line changes will not be picked up

As all the workshops currently listed for each session may not actually run, you do need to select TWO DIFFERENT choices.

NOTE:  Workshop 1D and 3D has been withdrawn and will not appear in the  list of options.

The workshop 'Power of Appraisal' is not being offered in session 2 and does not appear in the list of options.

Cancellation policy You may replace any name on your registration form, but please let me know by email the name of the replacement person so I can  prepare the correct Certificate of Participation and workshop program. If you cancel by Sunday 4th August, you will receive a full refund; by Friday 9th August, a 50% refund. After that, no refund is possible.

Early bird registration closes on 26 July.  Closing date for registrations is Sunday 4th August.

The major publishers will all be mounting displays and running competitions.
