With a successful March seminar activity behind us (thanks to all presenters), we are now focused on the second major PD activity in Brisbane for 2010.
A seminar entitled “English in a digital world: Implications for the teaching of language, literature and literacy” will be held at the Anglican Church Grammar school at East Brisbane on Saturday 22 May.
Our keynote speaker will be Professor Catherine Beavis from the School of Education and Professional Studies at Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus.
To flesh out the program, we now seek volunteers to run sessions in which they share what they have been doing using ICTs in English in their schools. There is the potential for both presentations and hands-on sessions in computer labs. The provisional program provides for sessions of up to 90 minutes duration or shorter presentations. Proposals should be sent to gazco48@bigpond.net.au To prepare the flyer, we would need a session title, an abstract and some suitable biographical details. In addition, please indicate the length of session that would best suit what you are able to offer.
